Digital collection from last year's December blizzard released by Buffalo History Museum

A few weeks after the blizzard, the museum asked for your submissions, and now you can see them online.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo History Museum recently released its digital collection of photos and videos to mark the December blizzard that struck Western New York one year ago.

A few weeks after the blizzard, the museum asked for your submissions, and now you can see them online.

Some of the notable submissions included photos of a group trapped in the Target on Walden Avenue and the American flag that was flying outside Erie County's emergency operations center during the storm.

"So much of what was shared was extraordinary, and as we walk about our city now with little to no snow on the ground, it's almost unbelievable to look back just one year ago and see what it was we lived through," said Brian Hayden, the communications director of the Buffalo History Museum.

If you have something to contribute, you can still submit to the Buffalo History Museum.
