BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo fire crews battled a three-alarm fire on Fougeron and Urban Streets early Tuesday morning near East High School.
Flames could be seen as early as 3:30 a.m. as high winds made it difficult for crews.
Buffalo fire officials found three structure on fire when they arrived located at a carriage house behind 77 Urban St., a residence at 78 Fougeron St. and a garage behind 81 Urban St.
The fire chief at the scene tells 2 On Your Side, that the fire initially involved three structures, but because of the high winds, it spread impacting a total of seven structures.
Two firefighters were injured while working to put out the fire and transported to ECMC to be treated for various injuries.
Four adults and two children are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
Fire investigators say the damage has been estimated to a total of $550,000 including $200,000 in damage to 77 Urban St. and $160,000 damage to 78 Fougeron St.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
