BUFFALO, N.Y. — There is leadership for the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens. The Board of Directors for the organization selected Erin Grajek as the new president and CEO on Wednesday.
“It’s an honor to have the board’s trust and support as we enter this transformative chapter in the Botanical Gardens’ history,” Grajek said in a statement. “The Botanical Gardens has been a cornerstone of my professional journey and a passion close to my heart. I look forward to continuing our work to inspire, educate, and connect this incredible community to our mission.”
Grajek has served as Interim President and CEO since the passing of former president and CEO Mark Mortenson in September. Before this role, Grajek was the organization’s COO in 2021 and held different leadership positions at the organization since 2006, according to the release.
“Erin’s years of dedication and experience at the Botanical Gardens, combined with her proven ability to be a strong, capable leader during challenging times, made her the clear choice for this position,” Tisha Luciani, Board Chair of the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens said. “We are 100% confident in Erin’s ability to move the organization forward, particularly through our ambitious expansion plan.”
