Buffalo City Court evacuates after report of a 'strong odor' inside the building

Buffalo City Court had to be evacuated on Thursday afternoon due to what officials say was a "strong odor."

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo City Court had to be evacuated on Thursday.

The cause of the evacuation has yet to be determined, but there were reports of a "strong odor" according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office.

According to officials, a malfunctioning boiler on the 11th floor caused elevated CO readings.

The Buffalo Fire Department evacuated the building for about 90 minutes for ventilation. People were allowed to re-enter at around 1:40 pm and no injuries were reported from the incident.

A viewer reached out to 2 On Your Side with a picture that can be seen below saying that there was a gas leak and people were seen leaving the building.
