NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — A group of Buddhist monks who have been walking across Western New York while calling for world peace completed their journey on Saturday.
Their travels began in Key West, Fla., and they made their way on foot to Niagara Falls. In total, the 10 monks walked more than 2,000 miles to get here.
Their goal is to spread awareness and inspire others to foster peace. The monks will now return back to their home countries, and they said they plan on doing another walk for peace next year.
The monks also attended the Strawberry Moon Festival on Saturday in Lewiston.
