The bank released a statement on its official website and Facebook page saying people have been receiving suspicious text messages about their M&T accounts. These messages advise customers that their accounts or cards have been restricted, and ask for personal information.
M&T Bank says it will never ask for customer login credentials, PINs, passwords or personal information via phone calls, email, or text messages.
