Multiple fire crews respond to Barker house fire Sunday

Niagara County Sheriff's dispatchers received a call around 7:50 a.m. on Sunday of a Barker house engulfed in flames.

BARKER, N.Y. — Niagara County Sheriff's dispatchers received a call on Sunday morning for a report of a home on fire in Barker. 

The call had came in around 7:50 a.m. for a home in the 1700 block of East Avenue with two adults inside. Both adults were able to get out of the house safely. 

When fire crews arrived on scene, they say the home was fully engulfed in flames. Fire crews worked to extinguish the fire without any incidents. There were no injuries reported. 

An estimate of the fires damages is unavailable at this time. The two adults displaced are receiving help from the Red Cross. 

Crews at the scene included the Barker Volunteer Fire Company, the Olcott Volunteer Fire Company, Lockport Fire Department, Hartland Volunteer Fire Company, and Niagara County Fire Investigation Unit.
