BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Western New York organization will be sending school supplies to children that were affected by Hurricane Helene

Many areas hit by Hurricane Helene are still dealing with the aftermath, with many losing their homes.

The Teacher's Desk, which is located in Buffalo, will be sending 'Panchopacks', which are backpacks filled with school supplies, to students in areas that were devastated by Helene.

The backpacks will include pencils, pens, crayons, paper, post it notes, glue stick , a BPA water bottle, soap, shampoo, tissues, toothbrush, toothpaste, and hand sanitizer.

The 'Panchopacks' are named in honor of Buffalo Bills fan 'Pancho Billa' (Ezra Castro), who died from cancer in 2019.

Pancho Billa's wish was to give school supplies to children in need.

So far, The Teacher's Desk has been given Panchopacks to more than 75,000 children over the past few years. If you would like to donate to the Teacher's Desk, you can find more information here: PanchoPacks (theteachersdesk.org)
