AMHERST, NY-- Another pedestrian has been struck by a vehicle on Niagara Falls Boulevard.
The accident happened on the Amherst side just before 6:30am Monday.
Police say Karl B. Booker, 31, of Tonawanda was hit by a vehicle in the 2700 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard. Booker suffered leg and head injuries and was taken to Erie County medical Center.
The driver of the vehicle was not hurt.
It's unknown if anyone will be charged in this accident.
A spokesperson for NYSDOT released the following statement in response to Monday's accident:
Today’s accident underscores why pedestrians should use crosswalks and signalized intersections for their own safety and the safety of others. We anticipate the corridor study will be completed sometime in late spring of 2019, with recommended engineering improvements and enforcement strategies to follow.
