BUFFALO, N.Y. — Bookworms and foodies alike gathered for the 16th annual Edible Book Festival on Saturday in downtown Buffalo.
The international festival — where books are created out of food — is hosted by the Western New York Book Arts Center, at the corner of Washington and West Mohawk streets.
"We have a youth and family division, and then an adult division," Rosemary Williams, the education director of the WNY Book Arts Center, told 2 On Your Side. "Then we have judges who judge on best tasting, most book-like, and also funny or puniest. We have some really inventive submissions, and then once the judging is complete, we announce the winners and then dive in and eat the books."
Proceeds raised from the event help support year-round programs at the center. Admission to the event was $5, though kids under the age of 5 got in for free.
