Angel Trees across WNY

Shoppers can participate in the 'Angel Tree' program at Walmart stores across the nation, and help make a child's Christmas special.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Do you love shopping and want to make a difference in a child's life this holiday season?

The Salvation Army and Walmart have teamed up to give people the opportunity to do both of those things this Christmas.

Shoppers can participate in the 'Angel Tree' program at Walmart stores across the nation, and help make a child's Christmas special.

What is an 'Angel Tree'?

An 'Angel Tree' helps provide children in need with new clothing, and toys during the holiday season. The tree has helped more than 1-million children each year since its start 40-years ago.

How can shoppers participate?

Trees will be set up at Walmart locations with tags on them listing a child's age, needs, and wants for Christmas. Shoppers can pick a tag off of the tree, and people can shop both in store or online using the 'Walmart's Spark Good Registry'.

Those who shop in store will drop off their donations at a Walmart collection point, or gifts can be hand delivered to your local Salvation Army.

Shopping for an 'Angel Tree' recipient both helps a local child in need, and sparks some well-deserved joy during a hard time of the year for many struggling to provide that Christmas magic.
