AMHERST, NY-- The Amherst Central School District is mourning the loss of one of their students.
The district sent home a letter to parents letting them know they were notified by Amherst Police that an eighth grade student had suddenly passed away.
The district is not commenting on the cause of the death and are not identifying the child.
The superintendent says teachers, psychologists, counselors, and social workers from the district will be at the school to provide counseling and support to students in need.
