AMHERST, N.Y. — The Amherst Police Department shared that its second annual food drive for FeedMore WNY was a success.
From Monday, November 4th to the 11th, nearly 2,400 pounds of non-perishable food items were collected for local families this holiday season.
Residents and employees in the Town of Amherst placed bags of non-perishable food on their front porch, front door, or workplace counter, and the Amherst Police Department patrol officers made trips to collect the donations.
All items were then delivered to FeedMore WNY for distribution to families in the area.
The donations collected will be used by over 1,900 neighbors in need.
