Driver in critical condition after four car crash on Sheridan Drive

Amherst Police say two people are hurt after a crash on Sheridan Drive near Village Green Wednesday morning. One of the drivers is in critical condition.

AMHERST, N.Y. — Amherst Police say two people are hurt after a crash on Sheridan Drive near Village Green Wednesday morning. One of the drivers is in critical condition.

A viewer reached out to the 2 On Your Side team and shared pictures from the accident showing two of the vehicles involved and first responders attending to the driver of one of the vehicles. 

According to officers, a white Jeep Compass was driving west on Sheridan Drive when it moved into oncoming traffic, hitting a red Ford pick-up headed east.

The Jeep Compass continued into the eastbound lanes, hitting a blue Chevy pick-up truck head-on. The Ford went into the westbound lanes, hitting a grey Toyota. The Toyota went off the road, hitting a mailbox.

Investigators tell 2 On Your Side, the driver of the Jeep is currently listed in critical condition ECMC. The driver of the Chevy was also taken to ECMC, but we don't know the extent of their injuries.

The crash is currently under investigation. Police are asking for any witnesses or drivers who may have dash-camera footage to call the Amherst Police Department at 716-689-1311.

No charges have been filed at this time.
