Amherst Police identify man after welfare check

Officers did not have success in trying to communicate with the man, who was then taken by Twin City Ambulance to Erie County Medical Center.

AMHERST, N.Y. — The Amherst Police Department asked for help in identifying a man who was the subject of a welfare check Sunday afternoon.

By Sunday night, they had identified him.

Police were called to Lebrun Road and 4 Seasons Road West around 1:30 p.m. Sunday. That's where a concerned citizen noticed a man who appeared to be confused and did not speak.

Officers did not have success, either, in attempting to communicate with the man, who was then taken by Twin City Ambulance to Erie County Medical Center.
