AMHERST, N.Y. — One person was injured when a cement truck rear-ended a vehicle Wednesday morning in Amherst, according to police.
The crash happened around 10:15 a.m. on North French Road, approaching Millersport Highway. That's where a 2003 Chevrolet Impala, heading east, was struck from behind by a cement truck, which swerved to the right, rolled over on the driver's side, then came to a rest, investigators said.
The person driving the cement truck — identified as a 59-year-old man from Niagara Falls — had to be extricated. He was taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center, where he was treated for minor injuries.
The person driving the Chevy Impala — an 80-year-old woman from North Tonawanda — and her passenger were not injured, according to Amherst Police.
Amherst Police are encouraging anyone who witnessed the morning crash, or who may have dash-camera footage of the area or incident, to contact them at 716-689-1311.
No charges have been filed, police said.
