BUFFALO, N.Y. — The work on Allen Street in downtown Buffalo continues, but there's a concern for folks along one section of the street.
That concern is that they've removed all of the street lights between Franklin and Delaware, leaving that street in the dark at a time when the nights are getting longer.
A business owner on Allen Street raised that concern with the city, so 2 On Your Side took that question to Buffalo Department of Public Works director Michael Finn.
"Last week, we were able to get temporary street light measures in place in order to put light on the street, based on the concerns that were raised to us by business owners and residents on the street. We will be continuing that until the permanent lights are installed," Finn said.
As for the project as a whole, Finn says they're ahead of schedule, and they expect to finish it next spring instead of 2021, as they had planned.
