BUFFALO, N.Y. — TIME Magazine released 'The World's Greatest Places' edition on August 5. This years list includes a local gem: the Buffalo AKG Art Museum.
In a statement from the AKG on Friday, manager of marketing and media relations Andrew Mayer expressed the museums response to the accomplishment.
"[It] demonstrates the impact of the museum’s extraordinary collection of modern and contemporary art, its celebrated curatorial program, and its dynamic suite of impactful art classes, concerts, talks, and other special events and public programs," Mayer said. "The museum is grateful to its members, supporters, and visitors, as well as to Visit Buffalo Niagara, whose steadfast partnership and advocacy has made this distinction possible."
For the 2024 list TIME gathered nominations of places which included hotels, cruises, restaurants, attractions, museums, parks, and more from its international correspondents and contributors.
There was also an application process, looking for places with 'new and exciting experiences'.
Other places that made the list include the Warren Street Hotel in NYC, Saka Museum in Indonesia, EDP Art Reef in Portugal, and the Royal Caribbean Icon of the Seas.
