2 Buffalo firefighters injured battling East Side fire

Buffalo Police say both firefighters were taken to ECMC to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Two firefighters were injured while fighting a fire Saturday morning on Buffalo's East Side, according to the Buffalo Police Department.

The Buffalo Fire Department responded to a fire call around 8 a.m. at a vacant house on Lombard Street. Fire investigators say the fire started in an upper floor of the house and caused $15,000 worth of damage.

Both firefighters were taken to ECMC with non-life-threatening injuries. They were treated and released.

The fire is under investigation.
