CLARENCE, N.Y. — No injuries were reported after a 2-alarm fire ripped through a Clarence home on Friday afternoon.
The Amherst Central Fire Alarm Office received a call at 12:46 p.m. Friday about heavy black smoke coming from a Strickler Road home. Clarence Center Fire Company was the first to arrive.
A second alarm was issued at 1:17 p.m.
"The structure became compromised due to the fire requiring an emergency demolition of the building," the Amherst Central Fire Alarm Office said Saturday.
The Erie County Sheriff’s Fire Investigation Unit is investigating the origin of the fire, which caused $200,000 in damages to the structure and another $100,000 to the inside of the home.
