BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo History Museum celebrated former President Abraham Lincoln's birthday with its Lincoln in Buffalo program.
Reenactors from the Buffalo Presidential Center played the part of uniformed Civil War soldiers and the 16th president himself.
They performed a rifle salute and even shared some birthday cake.
"He would have been 215 years old this year so we are delighted to host the community here to think about Abraham Lincoln and think about his legacy we are also very proud that we hold a number of items that belonged to Lincoln in our collection that were collected by a Buffalonian," said Anne Conable, History Museum Board of Managers.
This event is considered the nation's longest-running celebration of President Lincoln's birthday.
Presidents' Day is Monday.
