BUFFALO, N.Y. — The annual Sadie Strong Community Health and Wellness Expo was held Saturday morning at the Northland Workforce Training Center.
There were health screenings, flu shots, HIV testing, and mammograms, all in an effort to promote healthy living.
"I was diagnosed with breast cancer after a routine mammogram in 2017, and on the one-year anniversary of my diagnosis, I went downtown and started this organization Sadie Strong, as a way to give back to women in our community," Sadie Strong founder Sharon Sanford said.
"It is my love gift to the community, and it provides an opportunity for women to get the valuable resources that they need."
The expo also included workshops and classes to teach people about meal prepping, self-care, and speaking with doctors.
