BUFFALO, N.Y. — Doctors are encouraging everyone to get their flu shots to prevent the virus and slow the spread this fall.
Besides getting vaccinated, there are things you can do to avoid getting sick, such as frequent hand-washing, avoiding direct contact, and wearing a mask if you're around someone who has a running cough.
Outside of the vulnerable populations, doctors say people with compromised immune systems are especially vulnerable to the flu. For others, the experience of having the virus is just really unpleasant.
Experts say it is safe to get both your COVID and flu shots at the same time.
