TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. — Starting June 18, all departments in the Town of Tonawanda will be open and full-time staff are reporting to work.
“It’s important for everyone to realize that we are not out of the woods with this epidemic. It’s critical to continue to follow the guidance from the CDC, State and County Health Departments on social distancing and the need to wear face masks while in public. That being said, it’s also a good time to enjoy what our local community has to offer, just be careful and stay safe," said Town of Tonawanda Supervisor Joe Emminger.
Access to public buildings will be limited and town officials are encouraging residents and business owners to utilize town services through email, phone or US mail if possible.
They are also encouraging those who need to pay a water or tax bill to do so through the town website.
If you need to meet with a town official in person, they are recommending you call first to make an appointment.
The town will be using federal funding through the CARES Act for several assistance programs. They also remind business owners that the town's Small Business Loan Program is available to assist any business with five or fewer employees and that have been denied access to the Payment Protection Program through the Small Business Administration.
Earlier this week, the town announced they will be opening Lincoln Pool for residents of the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda.
