LOCKPORT, N.Y. — Niagara County businesses, already hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic are being offered a little help as they slowly begin the reopening process.
The Niagara County Department of Emergency Services has a limited supply of infrared thermometers available to help with meeting the state's reopening guidelines. They are available on a first come-first served basis and limited to one per business. Hand sanitizer is available as well.
Niagara County Legislator Dave Godfrey said many businesses had called looking for the thermometers which the county did not have in stock, but New York State came through and provided some.
“Our Emergency Services Department has done an outstanding job throughout the COVID-19 pandemic securing the necessary personal protective equipment and other supplies our community needs,” said Godfrey, Chairman of the Community Safety and Security Committee. “Now, they have become integral in helping our local businesses get what they need to meet state guidelines and reopen.”
If you are a Niagara County business interested in sanitizer or a thermometer, you must first fill out a business request form. Pickup is set for this Friday, June 19 from 9 AM- 2 PM at the Public Safety Building in Lockport.
