BUFFALO, N.Y. — Erie County health officials are reporting more deaths related to coronavirus (COVID-19).
The total deaths reported so far is 39.
As of Tuesday evening Erie County has a total of 1,235 confirmed cases with 893 people currently in isolation. In addition, 203 people are in the hospital, 114 of those are in ICU. At this time 108 patients have an airway assist.
Erie County Health Commissioner Dr. Gale Burstein says the people coming to the hospital are very, very sick.
Erie County officials say 303 people have recovered so far.
Health officials remind folks of the importance of physical distancing. They know this is a holy week and that many may want to go to services or gather with family, but they are discouraging it. Dr. Burstein is telling residents to only go out for essential food or pharmacy. She says out community is benefitting from social distancing as there is some flattening out of the curve because most folks have been following the rules.

- 96 cases in Cheektowaga/Sloan
- 89 cases in Tonawanda/Kenmore
- 76 cases in Hamburg/Blasdell
- 65 cases in Orchard Park/Village
- 48 cases in West Seneca
- 48 cases in Lancaster/Village
- 29 cases in Clarence
- 24 cases in Aurora/East Aurora
- 23 cases in Grand Island
- 20 cases in Alden/Village
- 17 cases in Elma
- 14 cases in Lackawanna
- 11 cases in Evans/Angola
- 5 cases in North Collins/Village
- 4 cases in City of Tonawanda
- 3 cases in Newstead/Akron
- 3 cases in Boston
- 2 cases in Holland
- 2 cases in Brant/Farnham
