BUFFALO, N.Y. — Wildfire smoke drifting over from Canada is once again causing unhealthy air quality in Western New York.
An Air Quality Alert has been issued for all of Western New York and the City of Buffalo is taking extra steps to keep people safe.
The city's splash pads have been closed for Wednesday due to the Air Quality Alert.
In a text message sent out city resident, officials say crews will monitor the situation throughout the day.
At 11 a.m. the Air Quality Index value was 166.
