BUFFALO, N.Y. — Wednesday marked Planned Parenthood's "Day of Action" in New York.
Gov. Kathy Hochul made sure to loudly and proudly thank all the workers on the front line.
The push is on to have abortion rights enshrined forever in the state. It will be on the ballot this fall, the governor said, and Hochul is calling other states to do the same.
"Because if they have the courage, individually, 50 states, to enshrine these rights, we can thwart what the Supreme Court is trying to do to our nation," Hochul said. "We can set them backward by showing them that the power rests with the people and power occurs at the ballot box."
Hochul also highlighted the $35 million the state invested to help abortion providers handle the influx of people coming from other parts of the country.
It's also making sure insurance companies cover their abortions.
