SUNY Fredonia alum wins Emmy Awards

Steve "Major" Giammaria won the awards for his work on Hulu's "The Bear."

FREDONIA, N.Y. — A SUNY Fredonia alum can now call himself an Emmy winner.

Steve "Major" Giammaria won the awards for his work on Hulu's "The Bear," a TV show that won for outstanding sound editing for a comedy or drama, and outstanding sound mixing for a comedy or drama.

Giammaria majored in sound recording technology at SUNY Fredonia and has been teaching online courses for audio post production to current SUNY Fredonia students.

"Teaching has been amazing," Giammaria said in a statement. "I love being able to offer a little window into a field that some of the students might not have even known existed. Besides being able to share knowledge with the next generation, teaching is a great way (selfishly) for ME to learn and stay sharp.”

SUNY Fredonia alum Steve Giammaria, '06, clinched two 🏆🏆Emmy Awards on Jan. 6th for "The Bear" at the 75th Creative Arts...
