BUFFALO, N.Y. — 2,749 pounds, that's how much the world's largest pumpkin weighed before becoming a new record creation.
The record-smashing pumpkin, grown in Minnesota, has traveled to WNY for the next chapter of its journey. Local artist of Mammoth Creations, Eric Jones, has spent days carving the pumpkin into the world's largest jack-o-lantern.
He is known for his spectacular 3D pumpkin creations has been featured on the hit TV show, Halloween Wars. Now, one of his most famous creations is the sculpted pumpkin honoring veteran heroes.
While Jones has worked with carving sculptures of all kinds he rates pumpkins to be number one.
I love working with snow but you never get to work with a pumpkin this size," Jones said.
The pumpkin will be on display from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 8 through Sunday, November 12 at the Great Pumpkin Farm in Clarence, NY. Admission is $5, with all proceeds benefitting two honorable charities.
