Transit Middle School Named Best in WNY

Transit Middle School in the Village of Williamsville was named the best middle school in WNY by Buffalo Business First.

WILLIAMSVILLE, NY- Transit Middle School in the Village of Williamsville was named the best middle school in Western New York for the sixth straight year by Buffalo Business First.

This is the ninth time Transit has taken the top spot in the middle school rankings. The school was previously named number one in 2003, 2005, 2006, and has taken the top spot every year since 2009.

Coming in second place was City Honors School in Buffalo, with St. Gregory the Great School in Williamsville rounding out the top three.

According to Business First's analysis, Transit was the best middle school in math and second best in English, trailing only City Honors.

Business First says they analyzed the academic records of 205 public and private middle schools throughout Western New York, and calculated the rankings based on four years of tests scores complied by the state education department.

Business First's top ten middle schools, and the towns they are in is below:

  2. City Honors School (Buffalo)
  3. St. Gregory the Great School (Williamsville)
  4. Casey Middle School (Williamsville)
  5. St. Benedict's School (Amherst)
  6. Heim Middle School (Williamsville)
  7. Mill Middle School (Williamsville)
  8. East Aurora Middle School (East Aurora)
  9. Clarence Middle School (Clarence)
  10. St. Mary's Elementary School (Lancaster)
