BUFFALO, N.Y. — Catholic Health, in partnership with Trocaire College, awarded 14 associates fully-paid scholarships on Tuesday at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo.
"Catholic Health has been working tirelessly on recruitment and retention to ensure a more stable and skilled workforce," Catholic Health President and CEO Joyce Markiewicz said. "We are proud to invest in highly sought after opportunities that will enhance the quality of care of system is known for and bring value to our associates."
The partnership with Trocaire College provides additional funding for associates degrees and advanced credentials in Registered Nursing, Licensed Practical Nursing, Surgical Technology, Radiologic Technology, and Ultrasound.
Catholic Health hopes that this will help to fill certain areas facing shortages following the pandemic.

"In line with the Sisters of Mercy, our mission is to be the beacon of hope for those who want to take a chance on themselves and make a better life for their family. This partnership with Catholic Health is a great way to offer educational access to those already in the healthcare profession."
The scholarship recipients will attend Trocaire College for their two-year degree programs beginning in the 2024-2025 academic year.
