School bus aides and food service workers needed in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Back to school season is around the corner, and Buffalo Public Schools are looking to fill open positions for school bus aides and food service workers.

Open interviews will be conducted by the district’s Office of Human Resources on Saturday, August 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Transportation through the free school bus shuttle service will be available for candidates at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and noon from the locations listed below, taking candidates to the interview location at Waterfront Elementary, at 95 4th Street.

  • Arthur O. Eve School of Distinction, PS 61, 453 Leroy Ave., Buffalo.
  • PFC. William J. Grabiarz, PS 79, 225 Lawn Ave., Buffalo.
  • Buffalo Public Schools Transportation Building, 105 Baily Ave., Buffalo.

A return shuttle service to the above locations will also be available. Candidates will need to complete their Civil Service applications onsite. To do this, Buffalo Public Schools require candidates bring the following items:

  • Photo identification as proof of residence in Buffalo.
  • At least three of the documents below are dated within the past three months:
    • Lease or mortgage statement.
    • Utility, phone, or cable bill.
    • Bank statement.
    • Vehicle registration or insurance.
    • County budget sheet.
    • Medical bill.

There is a $10 fee for background checks that can be paid using a credit or debit card, money order, or check. Chime, CashApp, and Venmo will not be accepted.
