Buffalo Math, Science and Technology Prep students given warm hats

Store 716 donated close to 500 Buffalo-themed hats that teachers and staff passed out as the kids headed out on a cold afternoon.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Every student leaving school today at Buffalo's Math, Science and Technology Prep was given the gift of a new warm hat, thanks to generosity of the folks at Store 716.

The online retailer donated close to 500 Buffalo-themed hats that teachers and staff passed out as the kids headed out on one very cold Wednesday afternoon.

Instilling a little Buffalo pride while keeping their heads warm was just part of what was stressed on Wednesday.

"It feels good for us to help out, really. Our office is only a couple of minutes away, so to help a group of kids with a little thing, and it says 'Buffalo' proudly on the hat to kind of get these kids indoctrinated into that Buffalo pride, and give them a hat that they can wear every day and show off their city, I think that's a good thing for all of us," Store 716 owner David Gram said.

Math, Science and Technology Prep is the first public preparatory school in Western New York.
