BUFFALO, N.Y. — All nine seats on the Buffalo School Board were up for grabs Tuesday, and after a day of voting, the results are in. The polls closed at 9 p.m.
Three spots went to at-large candidates, and another six seats were in defined districts.
Only two of those six districts had contested races, with the other four districts consisting of candidates running unopposed. Those uncontested races are in the North, West, Central, and Ferry districts.
The two contested races were in the Park and East districts.
The final results:
At-Large Candidates (Three Seats, all 118 districts reporting):
- Ann Rivera, 4,898 votes, 21 percent
- Terrance Heard, 4,442 votes, 19 percent
- Lawrence Scott, 4,037 votes, 17 percent
- Jack Kavanaugh, 2,904 votes, 12 percent
- Jeffrey Conrad, 2,274 votes, 10 percent
- Carolette Meadows, 2,072 votes, 9 percent
- Tim Hartigan, 1,870 votes, 8 percent
- Desmond Nalls, 1,349 votes, 6 percent
Park District Candidates (One Seat; all 17 districts reporting):
- Lou Petrucci (Incumbent), 1,487 votes, 80 percent
- Austin Harig, 380 votes, 20 percent
East District Candidates (One Seat; all 19 districts reporting):
- Kathy Evans-Brown, 439 votes, 52 percent
- Patricia Elliott, 408 votes, 48 percent
North District (Uncontested, all 18 districts reporting)
- Hope R. Jay (Incumbent), 1,760 votes, 100 percent
West District (Uncontested; all 15 districts reporting)
- Jennifer L. Mecozzi (Incumbent), 529 votes, 100 percent
Central District (Uncontested; all 29 districts reporting)
- Paulette Woods (Incumbent), 1,113 votes, 100 percent
Ferry District (Uncontested; all 20 districts reporting)
- Sharon M. Belton-Cottman (Incumbent), 1,123 votes, 100 percent
