WEST SENECA, N.Y. — The West Seneca Police  are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian.

Officers  were called to the area of  Mineral Springs Road and Ogden Street Thursday for a report of a male in roadway who was hit by a vehicle.

The male victim had traumatic injuries according to officers who performed CPR and life saving measures, which were ultimately unsuccessful, according to police.

The man, who is identified as Darnell J. Collins, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say they believe Collins was standing in the roadway when he was hit by the driver.  That driver is only being identified as a 40-year-old Buffalo woman. The woman and her passengers were not injured.

There have been no charges filed at this time. West Seneca Police are continuing to investigate.
