WEST SENECA, N.Y. — The West Seneca Police have provided an update on an accident that closed off the intersection at Clinton Street and Borden Road on Sunday, August 11 at 6 p.m.
According to a release by West Seneca Police, an officer was on routine patrol when they noticed a 2019 Toyota RAV4 overturned in a parking lot at the intersection and a damaged 2010 Dodge Caravan minivan in another parking lot.
Police say both drivers were unconscious and not responsive. They were removed from their vehicles and taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The driver of the RAV4, Alan Bulera, 48, of Cheektowaga, remains in serious, but stable condition at ECMC. The driver of the minivan, identified as Irene Mair, 76, of West Seneca, had been pronounced dead at the hospital.
Investigators says Bulera was allegedly speeding while traveling east on Clinton Street, and rear-ended the minivan.
Investigators with the West Seneca Accident Investigation Unit spent several hours reconstructing the scene to determine the cause.
There's not word yet on if any charges will be filed.
