JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Two Jamestown residents located in a tent along the Riverwalk Trail were arrested on Monday morning for allegedly obstructing and threatening police officers.

Police say that Robin J. Brown, 52, and Autumn M. Simmons, 36, both from Jamestown, were charged with obstructing government administration.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department were on duty with the Jamestown DOD when they found a tent near the Riverwalk Trail close to West 8th Street.

They say they found Simmons, who, according to the police, became disorderly and started shoving officers at the scene.

Officials then checked a tent on site, as reports were made of a young child living out of a tent in the woods with Simmons.

After a quick search, the child was not identified. It was actually Robin Brown.

Upon discovering Brown, he then stood up, pulled a large knife, and went towards the officers, making threats.

He was ordered to drop the knife and was held at gunpoint before fleeing into the nearby wooded area.

A perimeter was quickly established around Brown, and additional agencies, including Jamestown K9 Officer Kraft and his K9 partner, Kal, assisted in locating and taking Brown into custody.

Brown was additionally charged with Menacing a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Contempt.

Both suspects were transported to city jail and are being held pending their arraignment.
