TONAWANDA, N.Y.-- A Tonawanda man was caught trying to steal $1,800 worth of metal shelves from a business on Main Street, according to Tonawanda police.
Michael McCurry, 58, of Tonawanda was found loading his truck with the stolen items Wednesday at noon, behind the Leisure Living warehouse.
McCurry was arrested, but not before police say he tried to escape with the stolen items. Police were able to block the exit and trap McCurry inside the building's parking lot. According to police, he then became hostile with officers and refused to take a D.W.I. test.
He now faces multiple charges, including Grand Larceny, D.W.I., Criminal Trespass, and other vehicle and traffic related charges.
McCurry is scheduled to make an appearance in court this Friday for a felony hearing.
