Tonawanda man arrested for child pornography and possession of illegal firearms

Over 30 pieces of computer evidence of child pornography were obtained, police say after they went through his house with a warrant.

TONAWANDA, N.Y. — A 37-year-old man from Tonawanda was arrested last week for child sex crimes and the possession of illegal assault weapons, according to New York State Police.

Over 30 pieces of computer evidence of child pornography were obtained according to Troopers who searched the home of John R. Yungbluth with a warrant.

In addition, state police said they found 13 assault weapons that were not registered. Police also discovered 85 large-capacity ammunition-feeding devices, which are illegal in New York State.

According to troopers, Yungbluth had a pistol permit for multiple handguns but also had 2 unregistered handguns.

Yungbluth was arraigned and bail was set at a $25,000 or $50,000 bond.
