BUFFALO, N.Y. — Six people were arrested in connection to an armed robbery and the possession of stolen vehicles that happened Tuesday night in the City of Buffalo.
Buffalo Police said 18-year-old Travon Guilford has been charged with one county of felony robbery, one felony count of criminal possession of stolen property, and one misdemeanor count of obstruction of governmental administration.
The other five people arrested are all minors, and they face similar charges.
Police say at around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday at a gas station on Tonawanda Street, one of the minors went to the victim with a gun, then stole their wallet, cellphone, and a 2019 Nissan. Police said a Ford Escape, reported as stolen from the Town of Tonawanda, "drove the juvenile to the robbery and followed the stolen Nissan from the scene."
The other suspects are accused of either helping with the robbery, or riding in the stolen car.
After an investigation was launched, the Nissan was spotted in the Central Park area, and a pursuit followed. Police stopped and recovered the vehicle on the 100 block of Winspear Avenue, just south of the University at Buffalo South Campus, where three juveniles were arrested.
The stolen Ford was later spotted and recovered on the first block of Person Street, south of Broadway. That's where Guilford and the other two juveniles were arrested.
Guilford was arraigned Wednesday on his three charges. His next court appearance is Monday morning. Bail was set at $100,000 cash or $250,000 bond. He faces up to 25 years in prison.
The juveniles who were arrested were listed as being 17, 17, 16, 15, and 14 years old. One of the 17-year-olds is female, and the other juveniles are male.
