Drunk driver strikes State Trooper patrol vehicle in Lockport

A drunk driver struck a New York State patrol vehicle while Troopers were arresting a Lockport man for DWI.

LOCKPORT, N.Y. — A drunk driver struck a New York State patrol vehicle in the early hours of Labor Day Monday while Troopers were arresting a Lockport man for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). 

New York State Police say that Richard L. Morrow, 34 of Lockport was arrested for DWI after being found slumped over the steering wheel and failing several Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.

Morrow was placed in the back of an unmarked state police patrol vehicle while troopers continued their investigation.

While completing the investigation, Elizabeth M. Pursey, 25 of Buffalo struck the trooper's vehicle. She was also arrested for DWI.

Morrow was taken to Lockport Memorial Hospital for minor injuries and was released on Appearance Tickets for a later date in the town of Lockport.
