BUFFALO, N.Y. — A New York State Trooper is facing a charge of reckless endangerment following a car accident that injured five people.
The accident happened July 15 on the westbound I-90 between exits 58 and 59.
Investigators say the trooper, Stephen C. Barker, 33, was responding to an accident and didn't notice that the vehicle in front of him was slowing for traffic. The trooper struck the rear of the passenger vehicle, which was carrying five people. All were taken to the hospital and treated for injuries.
Trooper Barker was charged with Reckless Endangerment 2nd and Reckless Driving is currently suspended without pay.
