CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — A 15-year-old boy was shot Saturday evening at Cheektowaga Town Park.
The boy was taken to Oishei Children's Hospital to be treated for his injuries, according to Cheektowaga Police.
"It was first reported approximately 100 youths were getting ready to fight," police said, adding that shots were fired while officers were still on their way to the scene, following a call about the disturbance.
The boy was found shot near the playground area.
Cheektowaga Police are still investigating the shooting, and the Harlem Road park will remain closed overnight.
