WELLSVILLE, N.Y. — A Pennsylvania man was arrested in connection to a shooting that happened Wednesday in Allegany County.
New York State Police were called to Smith Hollow Road in the Town of Wellsville around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, following a report that someone had been shot at a party.
After an investigation, state police said Gregory S. Miller, 54, of Penndel, Pa., had previously argued with the 48-year-old man who was shot.
"Miller then went to his vehicle, a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, and returned with a Springfield Armory .45 ACP. Miller then discharged the firearm several times at the victim, striking him one time in the lower left leg," state police said.
Other people at the party held Miller down and waited for police to arrive.
The victim was taken to Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, then transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Miller is charged with attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment, three counts of criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal use of a weapon. He was taken Allegany County Jail.
