NEW YORK — A limo driver was arrested at the Albany International Airport for allegedly offering his services illegally.
Daniel Garhartt had been using his stretch limousine as a rideshare without the proper requirements to do so, legally.
The NYS DMV's Division of Field Investigation alongside the Albany County Sheriff's Office arrested Garhartt on Friday outside the airport following its investigation.
Since the arrest Garhartt has been charged with two class E-felonies, and a misdemeanor charge for falsifying multiple records and statements. He also had been ticketed for driving an uninspected vehicle.
During the investigation, it was later discovered that Garhartt had also been using a 2005 Cadillac that was not legally permitted to give rides to customers.
Garhartt's driver's license has since been suspended, and the limo he was driving was impounded pending an upcoming safety hearing.
