NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. — A 28-year-old North Tonawanda man accused of fatally stabbing someone in September of 2023 was arraigned in Buffalo City Court on Friday.
John A. Rudes had fatally stabbed a 59-year-old man outside of an apartment building on the 100 block of Kenmore Avenue. Buffalo Police Officers who had responded to the scene had found the victim on the front steps with multiple stab wounds on his neck and upper chest. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rudes has been accused of intentionally causing death to the victim and has been arraigned on one count of murder in the second degree.
He is being held without bail and is scheduled to return to court on Wednesday, June 5. If he is convicted of the highest charge he will face a maximum sentence of 25-years to life in prison.
