Niagara Falls Police investigate fatal e-bike crash

A 50-year-old woman had been found laying in the roadway after a car hit her while she was riding an e-bike in Niagara Falls around 1:20 a.m. on Monday morning.

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The Niagara Falls Police Department is investigating a fatal e-bike accident at the intersection of 22nd Street and Niagara Avenue. 

Officers received a call just after 1am that a woman was injured in the roadway. When officers arrived they found a woman with serious injuries. 

The 50-year-old woman had been riding an e-bike when she was hit by a vehicle, according to police. 

Investigators say the vehicle fled the scene of the crash. 

The woman was taken to ECMC, where she was later died of her injuries.  Her name is not being released at this time pending notification of family.
