NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. — The Niagara County Sheriff's Department is alerting the community of a recent, and alarming, scam targeting people.
In a social media post, they said, "Scammers continue to find new ways to alarm potential victims into sending them money - even using mapping images of our neighborhoods, and street views of our homes. The Niagara County Sheriff's Office reminds you that criminals will send you emails, text messages, or pop-ups to scare you into sending them money. Please, do not click on links or open attachments, especially when the message is attempting to scare you."
