NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. — A Buffalo man is facing several charges following a traffic stop in Niagara County.
The Niagara County Sheriff's Office says 911 dispatchers received a call Monday evening from a concerned citizen that someone was driving recklessly down South Transit Road near Fisk Road.
Deputies say the driver was unable to stay in its lane, and was making multiple lane violations. The deputies pulled the vehicle over in the area of 120 South Transit Road.
Once stopped, the driver, identified as Adam J. Miller, 44, of Buffalo, and had shown alleged signs of impairment, according to the report. Miller was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Testing which later resulted in his arrest for driving while impaired by drugs.
After being taken into custody, deputies found Miller was allegedly in possession of narcotics and illegal brass knuckles. They say they also found a loaded handgun in his car's center console.
Miller is a convicted felon, according the the Niagara County Sheriff's Department, which prohibits him from owning or possessing firearms.
Deputies transported Miller to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, where he was evaluated by the Drug Recognition Expert.
Miller was charged with DWI-Drugs, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree, and several VTL Violations.
He was then transported to the City of Lockport Police Department, where they were able to hold him until his arraignment.
